Striped Bass and Bluefish Charters
Targeting Stripers & Blues out of Newburyport

Inshore Fishing:

Starting in the Merrimack River, Team Fishboy targets both Striped Bass & Bluefish on our inshore trips. The Striper season begins in earnest in late May, with the larger fish showing up along with the Bluefish in June. Depending on type of fishing you want to do & the number of anglers, we can use either boat. We love to flyfish or use extremely light tackle, but also will chase Mackerel as bait to use to try and land a trophy Striped Bass.

Best times to fish are early & late, sun up & sun down, with our favorite being early, early in the morning (read, it is dark when you hit the parking lot). Less boat traffic & hungry fish await in the first low light hours of the day. Late afternoon into sundown also provides great action. For the mid-day trips, we like to fish the ever changing tides, so times vary.

We use nothing but the finest tackle from G-Loomis, Sage, Shimano & St. Croix. For flyfishing it is either a sink-tip or intermediate line. On the light tackle, we line both spinning & casting reels with braids and fluorocarbon. There is plenty of room to bring your own favorite gear should you choose.
